Spring Is In The Air!

Well it should be arriving soon. Right now I see snow out my window.  But I am anxiously looking forward to spring.  Spring means everything looks new.  It’s another opportunity to get everything cleaned up and looking fresh.  This could be a good time to get a fresh start on that marketing you have been putting off.  There are many things we have to do to get that new look.  There are things we have to do outside to get the yard looking green and clean as well as the getting flower and vegetable gardens growing.  And many of these we have to do many times over to get the outcome that we want – multiple plantings, fertilizing, weeding, mowing – you get the idea.  Marketing is a lot like gardening as it too needs to be done continuously in order to achieve the results that you want.

For example, let’s examine multichannel marketing this spring.  Multichannel marketing uses different marketing methods to reach your target audience (your customers or potential customers) all within the same campaign. These methods may include mail, email, text messaging and/or social media campaigns in some form of combined fashion.  By increasing the methods you use, you are increasing the opportunities to gain new customers.  For maximum benefit, you could also track which marketing channel your customer responded to best, letting you know which type of communication works ideally for each individual customer.  You will then be able to be more targeted with future marketing communications and eliminate marketing waste (which equals precious marketing dollars).

A good mix is email marketing along with direct mail.  This method provides a good balance.  Email marketing is fast, less expensive and easily tracked. Emails can be a great follow up to a direct mail piece.  Direct mail allows people to receive something tangible they can physically hold. Direct Mail is more expensive, however by purchasing targeted mailing lists the extra cost should be well worth it.  So try refreshing your marketing campaigns and spring into multichannel marketing!
