Washington, D.C.—The U.S. Postal Service has opened online registration for its Picture Permit option, allowing commercial mailers to include logos, trademarks, brand images and other kinds of marketing designs in the postage information area on mail pieces.

For an extra penny for first-class letters and cards, and two cents extra for standard-mail letters, marketers can add marketing images to the permit imprint indicia in the upper right-hand corner of mail pieces to help boost the visual impact and effectiveness of direct mail.

The online registration site includes program requirements, FAQs and an application form.
